how are you people pressing these keys? SHIFT is right under the WASD. using the mouse necessitates using WASD. my fingers are smeared and mutilated. the general consensus is this game's easy, so i won't hold up in court. my hatred was too great, i had to rate it according to that extreme bitterness and rage at inescapable scenarios where further skills can't be purchased, plants can't be grown, and the insanity never relents. it's unfortunate when you have no skill. most people won't take your review with any weight. i can only throw my rating out there. rage.

great, perfect accept for the last character

BUT aside from that and his minor advantage, i have one important suggestion. i want you to insert a gallery of every character's death animation as they are OBLITERATED by explosives and stomping and so on...time and time again these animations or renders cracked me up!! i love how fucking gratuitous it all is! ha...i beg of you to include it...how it's unlocked or if gonzossm just puts it in his profile, i dont care it HAS to be done...thank you in advance and thank you for this game.

i'm so pissed

but i'll try and write a calm review...great game, everything works pretty good...simple structure, i'm a little interested in more weapons and possibilities but not much more really in the vein of game structure, so that area is fine..

areas that suffer include the dash command, recoil, the freak, and the quality setting. the dash command adds to that boss battle's problem...the double tap, is too sensitive; it can be mistriggered in sticky situations, or fail to trigger which in the Freak's battle, that's gonna be game over. the recoil, while for the most part, is fine, in areas laden with hazards it can get out of control, and u should never punish ur players with an agonizing loss of a whole health bar or one misstep, which can vexing to judge in the up and down dimensions of this kind of game. the biggest offender was a giant gnome that sent me back two screens; once ur clear of an acid pool two screens back, u shudnt have to deal with it again, nothing sent me flying that far again tho, but that was absurd, no game in history has ever had recoil that bad. the quality setting shud be able to be changed IN GAME in the pause screen or by right clicking, thinking about it, maybe it actually is, i'll have to check again, if not i'll just say getting stuck with an overloading quality for the whole game is a major slip. in the boar battle the true lack of receding space is revealed and that space is precious in games like this, because while they may not be needed to defeat the boss, they offer the player that valuable THINKING time while they struggle to dodge to watch and study the boss without dying in a minute or two. this boss has small health available to compensate for the large damage given by a hit...while this is the first serious battle, the Freak deserves a mild health booster to withstand the two hits that end the fight. lastly, nothing is more frustrating then knowing a death is inevitable-if u fail to hold back the Freak immediately after the rage has ended, u will have insufficient time to build up rage before the impervious barrier of the boss pushes you into the corner, thus death without reprieve

take the review however u want, seeing as how i havent beaten the Freak yet, but like i said the game is challenging and addicting

great

unfortunate that i cant beat it, tho it seems i'm the only one....a large and slow avatar and no other attacks besides the default, not that i'm knocking it...i just cant see much room to improve my strategy, so i dont know how to beat it-still funny as hell, but i'm resigning it as impossible at this point. life sucks.

perfection

so much shit to do and buy and redo and where do i begin? well since i already did, lemme just say this was my first enigmata experience...dont worry tho i took the 50 year "time warp" that shopbot noticed and see how far u came...and god damn...everything from the visuals to control to upgrades...and to just proportion!! man money is NOT impossible to gain but it takes some time...and its great to get the really juicy stuff before the absolute end...and even near the end really...when you take ur time and try to play smart; ship design, unlockables, could go on, ALL THOSE WEAPONS and combos that u subtly uncover along the way...all the little histories and thought out titles for everything...as i'm writing and thinking how much more i'm still going to do, one thing comes to mind and that is the ship's own sound...enemy's have sounds for their lasers but yours doesnt; i'd really like to here those Vecton and Blue Lasers, but i'm sure that could get tough to balance so that's why its just a suggestion, 'cuz i'm no programmer...i DO like the quick intercom and drawings for the characters, but i'd say keep working on ur drawings but keep that SKIP option, even tho i didnt use it, the press any key is good, and maybe even consider skippable cutscenes....but again, beautiful game, beautiful work, keep on drawing and making and thanks for the fun

flawed controls

keys or more powerups...i dunno...somethin different...doesnt feel controlled

incomplete

but u know that...i got my eye on all those other upgrades, but alas its not finished...good visuals
WARNING: to all players, the levels end at 15, at which point the level does not advance, so there is no ending or anything like that

impossible at level 5.

and if someone gets past that...i dont imagine it quits anytime soon or gets easier...too weak and too subject to the whims of gravity

difficult to rate

this is a tricky one, because i am torn over whether the absence of certain game elements left me wanting more in a good way or a bad way...definitely breaks some conventions and does make u think...if u have an open mind, just with the concept alone...and it has the beautiful cataclysmic feel majora's mask nailed so well ie.) the music, NPC dialogue, progression through time....all great things...i recommend that u either remove Fuzor and Naaji's gameplay elements to keep with Mell's...or add some level of achievement to Mell's story so his portion is more than mere maneuvering with optional dialogue and no medals...i understand this specific idea doesnt lend itself well to resolutions or fights or that sort of thing...but some sort of greater conclusion should exist in some part, even if its optional to pursue...the life lessons just arent enough when ur talking flash games, especially when u pull people in like that with such deep concepts and atmosphere...maybe u were striving for that 'frozen in time feel' but a lil more animation wouldnt hurt....make the rifts....rift...and the center of gravity 'pulse'...but more importantly, just keep on thinking and creating

exquisite and refreshingly disturbed

amazing concept and design, having run through the game and tried a few user made levels my only question could be said to concern many flash games which automatically save ur progress: how do u reset the data...often i find myself wishing to restart a game and play through it again from the get-go...but the same problem comes up often times...how to clear the game data...but again...a great work, with just a touch of Portal in it
